Sewing Projects

Somehow, October is more than half over, and I haven't even started on my Halloween costume yet. Cathie suggested that I make a Can-Can costume and I have all the necessary fabric to do so, but I've been feeling sick or making things for other people. It's funny how I can get things done for others, but I lag for myself. Plus, I can't decide if I want to make the skirt from one, two, or three circles. The thought of sewing all those yards of ruffles is daunting.
Currently, I am making cloaks for two little girls to play dress up. I would've been done sooner, but I would start working on one fabric, but then I'd spot another fabric I think would be better and start all over again. I have a closet filled with fabrics left over from previous projects, or never even touched. But I finally settled on this velvety midnight blue fabric with sequins already on it. The weight of the fabric is nice, and the sparkles make it gorgeous.
I also started making a little shrug type jacket for a friend who needed something to go over her dress. We were super lucky to find fabric that matched almost perfectly. I started on Monday night by making a mock-up and fitting her. I hope to be finished with it tonight. I'm also determined to finish the cloaks tonight.
I'm taking pictures, but you'll have to wait to see these projects until I get them developed.
Okay, I'd better return to sewing and tonight's the Project Runway finale! Michael and Laura are my favorites. But I have to say, I liked Season 2 the best because everyone was kind to each other and their camaraderie seemed genuine.
