Since I can't sleep, I decided to share one of my costumes that I happen to have digital pictures of.
This, I made within a span of a few days, for Halloween, 2005.

This is a bustled gown. I actually wore it to work so I made the top very modest with a high neckline and lace. I used navy blue and powder blue satins. I just designed it the way I wanted to, so it's not historically accurate. It kinda looks like a Snow White costume. I love draping the skirt and making corsetted tops. It's laced with a ribbon and has Swarovski crystal beads going down where the grommets are. The skirts are two separate pieces. The light blue, ruffled underskirt was a part of another gown, but it really worked with this blue and I didn't have enough of the dark blue fabric or really the time to construct another underskirt. Luckily, I found remnants of the powder blue fabric and was able to do all the piping to tie it all in.
I'm pretty frivolous so most of my costumes are only worn once. But I do love this garment a lot. Plus it's kinda fun to have a big butt. There is a bustle under the gown to hold the skirt up, but I don't have pictures of just the bustle. It looks like a giant caterpillar and moves like one too.
